IN WHAT SETTINGS IS THE NVR APPROACH USED?

Private homes, care homes, secure childrens homes, schools, hospitals, organisations, communities and any setting where there is destructive and harmful challenges.

​

HOW IS NVR DELIVERED?

​

It is used in Systemic Family Therapy and in Parent Coaching. Practitioners support families in using nonviolent methods on a one-to-one basis, or in groups.

​

Organisations offer one-to-one Systemic Family Therapy and parent coaching based on NVR, as well as parent groups using a hybrid model that includes one-to-one family contact.

​

There are services in various locations around the country who work with parents, caregivers, teachers and others in their community.

IS NVR EVIDENCE BASED?

​

Please check the resources tab for a list of relevant references. There are an increasing number of research studies that evidence the efficacy of NVR with different populations and in different settings

WHAT CONSTITUTES AN ACCREDITED NVR PRACTITIONER?

 

In order to become an Accredited NVR Practitioner, you must complete:

 

Level 1: NVR Informed Practice

 

Level 2: Emerging NVR Practitioner – Providing practice is supervised by an NVR Accredited supervisor or a supervisor approved by The NVR Association

 

Level 3: Accredited NVR Practitioner

 

Once you have completed your accreditation, your certificate will display that it has either been accredited by 'NVR UK' or 'NVRA'. These are the two routes.

 

If you have completed your training but it is not accredited by NVRA or NVR UK you will need to submit a portfolio to map your practice to the accreditation standards and pay a fee for this to be assessed.
