Lydia Stafford

Principal NVR Lead and Clinical Nurse Specialist in Birmingham CAMHS (NHS).

Private work providing NVR Training through Raising Presence UK.

Town/Location: West Midlands

Areas of interest: NVR as whole team training that can impact on all levels of context from service delivery through to strategic leadership. I am interested in the potential NVR has as a trauma informed approach to lead to more integrated systems and better cultures to work in. NVR can impact on wellbeing for all; those clients that we work with and as practitioners using the framework.

Services Offered: At Raising Presence UK we offer Introductory (1 day) and foundation (4 days) training and NVR Clinical Supervision. We have experience of working within CAMHS early help, specialist and secondary community services, inpatients and crisis teams. We have also trained staff from both school and social care settings.

Within my NHS role I have developed a strategy to imbed NVR as a psychologically informed parenting intervention across the mental health service for 0-25s.

This includes the psychology service working with mental health in physical health care. I have written programmes of NVR that can be delivered to parents and caregivers over 8-10 weeks and have trained and supervised the staff that facilitate these programmes.

I am passionate about co-production and have created roles for lived experience practitioners within our workforce; I recently presented on this work with a lived experience practitioner at a West Midlands co-production conference. My latest area of experience is working with residential settings for children in care. I have developed an on-line programme for these teams and we have just finished our first pilot. It has evaluated extremely well and we have plans to carry out formal research in this area.
